CT Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members attended the Academy’s Public Policy Workshop in Washington DC from June 23-24. In addition to receiving training on advocacy, visits were made to the offices of Richard Blumenthal, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, and Chris Murphy on Capitol Hill to discuss current legislative issues including the Improving Child Nutrition and Education Act of 2016 (H.R. 5003) and the Preventing Diabetes in Medicare Act (H.R. 1686, S. 1184).
