Held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the University of St. Joseph’s School of Pharmacy in Hartford was a great success. The Keynote speaker was Ahmed El-Sohemy, PhD, Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Nutrigenomics, Department of Nutritional Sciences of Toronto. His talk discussed: “Do our Genes Determine What We Should Eat”. The other guest speakers were Derek Dube, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology, University of St. Joseph (The Evolution of Genomics), Beverly Burke, MSW, Coordinator, CT Department of Public Health (Public Health Genomics and Your Practice), and Kate Reed, MPH, ScM, CGC, Director, Clinical and Continuing Education Programs, The Jackson Laboratory (Genetic Testing: Opportunities and Challenges) . A great networking reception followed the presentations and panel discussion.
