President of the CT Academy of Nutrition Message
On behalf of the Connecticut Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CT Academy) Board of Directors and our valued members, welcome to our CT Academy website.
I am proud to be your 2021-2022 President, working alongside a diverse Board of Directors that is committed to supporting you and our profession.
The CT Academy is positioned to fulfill its mission – to promote optimal nutrition and well-being for our Connecticut residents. We are the leading source of food and nutrition services through outreach, advocacy, and evidence-based practices. Our members translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living.
While this past year surely had its challenges, I truly believe it made us stronger. It also helps us to appreciate the power of connecting with others, in any way, shape or form.
Additionally, with a renewed focus on institutional racism, comes an opportunity to do better. We welcome members from all walks of life, and encourage diversity in all that we do. Together, we are talking about diversity in all forms, and are planning ways to increase diversity in our profession in the coming years.
We are always prioritizing adding value for our members, as we wouldn’t be who we are without you.
I’m looking forward to serving as your President and doing the important work needed to move our profession forward. With this, I value your feedback tremendously.
If you have a suggestion, a question, or just want to say hello, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Be Well
Melissa Mitri, MS, RDN
