Canton, CT (July 8, 2010) – The Collinsville Farmers Market is a popular gathering spot on Sunday mornings during Connecticut’s growing season as people come to purchase farm fresh fruits, vegetables and specialty food items. Most customers love the taste and quality of locally grown, just picked produce, but they also know that eating fresh fruits and vegetables is good for them. Yet that may be the extent of their knowledge. So this week at the Collinsville Farmers Market, the Connecticut Dietetic Association (CDA) will be on site armed with reading materials, sources of information and samples of a delicious pasta sauce recipe from the CDA’s “Connecticut Cooks!” cookbook written and compiled by its members to mark the CDA’s 75th Anniversary.
So, if you’re wondering why you should eat your veggies, or better yet how to prepare them, stop by and ask Canton resident Teresa Dotson, RD your questions, pick up some materials or browse through the cookbook for some fresh ideas.About The Connecticut Dietetic Association
